Check if Adobe PDF Printer is Available
First, ensure you’re in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. Press Ctrl+P on your keyboard. If you see the option to choose “Adobe PDF” as a printer, you’re good to go. This option is primarily used for resizing pages within a PDF document.
Troubleshooting Missing Adobe PDF Printer
If the Adobe PDF option isn’t available, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Option 1: Repair Installation
- Click on the menu button in the top left corner.
- Scroll down and select “Help.”
- Choose “Repair Installation.”
This process will run Adobe Acrobat through a series of steps to ensure it was installed correctly. Sometimes, this can resolve the issue and make the PDF printer visible.
Option 2: Manual Installation
- Open your computer’s control panel (you can search for it in the bottom left corner).
- Select “View Devices and Printers.”
- Click on “Add a printer.”
- Choose “The printer I want isn’t listed.”
- Select “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings” and click “Next.”
- Choose “Use an existing port.”
- In the dropdown menu, search for “Adobe PDF printer.” It should appear as “documents*.pdf.”
- Click “Next.”
- Select “Have disk.”
- Navigate to your Adobe Acrobat folder. Typically, it’s in C drive > Program Files > Adobe Acrobat > DC > Acrobat > extras > Adobe PDF.
- Choose “Adobe PDF.inf” and click “OK.”

This should install the PDF printer so you can easily print to PDF.
